Education is a fundamental component of the work of the ASCC. The Centre receives a significant amount of enquiries from students and

teachers seeking information from the basics of stem cell biology to legislation and ethics.
The Centre’s communications objective is to
enhance public understanding of stem cells and their potential. To achieve this the ASCC has a range of projects and tools available:
The Stem Cell Channel
The Stem Cell Channel is an interactive website featuring mini-documentaries and interviews with industry experts. Topics include: what are stem cells, the scientists, patients discuss stem cells, legislation and therapeutic cloning.
Back to Schools Program
Victoria’s stem cell scientists headed back to school during National Science Week in 2009 to help secondary school students understand more about stem cell research.The ASCC is reviewing this pilot initiative with the aim of expanding in 2010
Fact Sheets
The ASCC produces a range of Fact Sheets to download.
Teachers Resources Kit (coming soon)
The ASCC aims to produce a Teachers Stem Cell Resources Kit which
will include classroom activities, stem cell basics and lesson plans.
