Australasian Society for Stem Cell Research 1st Annual Conference

17 November 2008

The ASSCR has announced its first annual conference, to be held at the Australian Health and Medical Research Congress in Brisbane on Monday, November 17th 2008. A number of stem cell scientists from Australia and New Zealand have been invited to speak in the inaugural conference.

Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells

Stem cell science is an extremely fast moving field of research with new breakthroughs being reported almost daily. Currently attracting a lot of public attention are some recent breakthroughs in the areas of reprogramming and in particular the discovery of a way to make a new cell type which has been named induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS cells).
